Al and Mary Doering are committed to multiplying leaders for the mission of God. They have been in full-time ministry for over 40 years, and currently serve at Christ the King in Kingwood, TX. For the past 27 years they have been deeply connected to PLI, both receiving training and serving as trainers in the US and internationally. Al and Mary consistently invest in leaders in their local network by sharing the wisdom, knowledge, and experience they acquired through PLI.
Local Multiplication
About ten years ago, Al, Mary, and the people of Christ the King were led to partner with another local congregation to plant a church in Northeast Houston. These efforts birthed the Harvest Partnership Network, a collection of mission-minded congregations coming together to help plant new churches.
Al shared the heart of the network which has expanded across Texas and other areas of the US:
“We really believe that more churches reach more people, and new churches reach new people, and different churches reach different people.”
The Harvest Partnership Network has been highly influenced by a multiplication mindset. “Most of our pastors have received PLI training,” Al said. “If they haven’t, then they’ve been influenced by it. It’s the leadership—the multiplication stuff—that PLI helps with.”
Mary reflected on the now six churches planted in northeast Houston. “It’s multiplied in 10 years because there is high accountability, low control.” From her perspective, the ministry leaders involved “look at ministry through a different lens than a lot of people.” They desire to multiply leaders for the mission of God in order to see more and more people connected to Jesus.
Leadership Collectives
Recently, the Doerings hosted one of PLI’s Leadership Collective pilots. They invited more leaders from their local network to get a taste of PLI’s training content. The participant response was overwhelmingly positive.
That didn’t surprise Al. He and Mary know the value of the content because they’ve trained others in it.
“[Participants] got a taste—an appetizer—and they said, ‘Can we have the full meal now?’”
Al and Mary value leadership training that aligns the life and leadership of ministry leaders with the mission of God and equips them to multiply leaders who carry God’s mission everywhere, everyday. They have personally experienced how it can transform an entire region.
And now, the Doering’s commitment to multiplying leaders for the mission of God has led them to partner with PLI. They will host a Leadership Collective this fall in Kingwood, TX. This training is a first step toward multiplying the number of pastors, spouses, and ministry leaders leading with humble courage for the sake of more people coming to faith in Jesus.

Al and Mary Doering are the real deal! Dedicated. Committed. Humble. Faithful. Fun loving. Bible believing. Jesus sharing. May their tribe increase!
God bless Al and Mary Doering for the great ministry to expound Gods kingdom. I have learnt something from this testimony
