Across the world, ministry families are rediscovering the joy of leading together out of who they are in Christ—not just from what they do. Ministry is deeply rewarding, yet it can also be demanding. When life’s pressures mount, even the most faithful leaders can find themselves off course. Marriage, family and other relationships fall behind in priority. But when couples pause to realign their hearts with God’s mission, they rediscover purpose, partnership, and peace. They become a family on mission.

This is at the heart of PLI’s work: equipping pastors, spouses, and ministry leaders to live and lead from a place of health and wholeness. Through the generosity of donors, trainers, and coaches, couples around the world are learning to lead not from emptiness or exhaustion, but from their identity, rooted in the love of Christ and shaped by the mission of God.

Reorienting to God’s Mission

Every couple in ministry knows how easy it is to drift. The demands of church, community, and family can pull couples in different directions until marriage and ministry start to feel like competing priorities.

PLI helps leaders step back and reorient their lives around God’s mission. Instead of choosing between “marriage or ministry,” couples learn to view both as a shared calling—one that reflects God’s intent for partnership and sustains their leadership for the long haul. It isn’t family or mission. It’s family ON mission.

This process begins with reflection. Leaders are invited to ask:

  • What is guiding our marriage and ministry right now?
  • Are we leading from who we are in Christ, or from what others expect of us?
  • What would it look like to bring our love, work, and faith back into alignment with God’s heart?

When leaders and ministry couples slow down long enough to listen, they often discover that God isn’t calling them to do more, but to be more fully His. From that place of renewal, they begin discerning how to live out that alignment in everyday life.

Clarifying Vision and Values Together

Once couples reorient to God’s mission, the next step is to clarify what that means for daily life. Every family needs a clear sense of direction—a shared vision rooted in scripture and guided by prayer.

PLI’s training gives couples space to identify their core values and articulate how they will live them out together. They learn that leadership begins not at the office or in the pulpit, but at home.

One participant shared:

“We realized our home was our first mission field. When we began praying and planning together, everything changed.”

Ministry couples begin setting healthy rhythms of rest, connection, and shared decision-making. They model grace and humility for their congregations. Their homes become places where God’s presence is tangible—and from that foundation, their ministry grows.

Across the world, these conversations are transforming the way pastors, ministry leaders and their spouses live and lead. To help couples take this next step, PLI offers a simple resource to guide conversations about vision and values in marriage and family. Leaders Renewed

When ministry couples live with clarity and unity, their churches notice. Marriages grow stronger and leaders serve with renewed energy and joy. Congregations learn what it looks like to live as families on mission—rooted in love, shaped by grace, and sent by God.

Your generosity fuels this work. Every training, every coaching conversation, every resource offered helps leaders find their footing again—reoriented to God’s mission and leading from who they are in Christ. Together, we’re witnessing the Spirit renew homes, strengthen churches, and raise up healthy leaders who reflect the heart of Jesus to the world.
