Introducing New PLI Team Members

God is moving through PLI in ways that are “more than we could ask or imagine.” We have once again experienced our largest enrollments in PLI this year. 1000 Young Leaders has had a strong launch. And our international presence has been deepening work around the world. We are in awe of what God is doing through PLI, and we are thankful!

We are also very pleased to share several key staff additions with you!

Todd Moritz, Director of Strategy and Donor Engagement, joined the team on September 1. PLI is at a critical juncture as we seek to be faithful in stepping through the doors that God is opening. Todd brings with him 18 years of Fortune 500 experience, including at the director level. He previously served as executive director of Orange Lutheran High School, Milwaukee Lutheran High School and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellisville, MO. And, he has earned his MBA and CPA, and is a Commissioned Minister of Religion. Todd can be reached at

Dave Ficken, North American Program Director, began July 1. Dave will begin overseeing U.S. learning communities. Dave brings experience in discipleship and missional living in his neighborhood as well as in pastoring a church. Dave previously served as a church planter. You can contact him at

Dr. Robert Newton will be creating a comprehensive podcast, guiding people through the missionary work of God from Genesis to Revelation. The first digitally formatted teachings will be available in 2020. Bob previously served as a missionary in the Philippines and designed and taught in the Doctor of Missiology program at the seminary. After retiring as a district president, Bob is devoting this next season of his life to investing in young leaders and future missionaries. Contact him at

We are excited about these new additions and the gifts and talents they bring to our team!
