Maundy Thursday today.
“My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39)
Good Friday tomorrow.
“My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Matthew 27:46)
Easter on Sunday! The resurrection of the Son of God who…suffered under Pontius Pilate…was crucified…died…buried. Substitutionary atonement for the sins of the world. Grace…for you, too!
“Christ indeed has been raised from the dead…” (1 Corinthians 15:20)
It’s ironic… So many of us as leaders represent grace. We’re deeply invested in people receiving grace! But, maybe it’s more difficult for us to experience grace and acceptance ourselves.
By no work of our own. By no above average leadership achievements.
Acceptance. Grace. Forgiveness. They’re ours!
Thanks for leading. Thanks for representing the Good News that Christ has been raised from the dead.
It’s sobering to realize that as Easter dawns this Sunday, Christianity is declining in virtually every Western setting! And, in the United States the fastest growing demographic on the religious landscape are the “nones” and the “dones.”
Is it possible that God is planning to use you and your congregation in this time of unprecedented strategic significance in the United States to chip away at reversing that trend as we give voice to the resurrected King Jesus Christ?
Thanks.
Jock
