I want to say a word about #GivingTuesday and the Washington, D.C., multicultural learning community. But first a word of thanks to you.
Thanks for being in the PLI family! Gail and I are so encouraged by you, your stories, and your heart for the Mission of God.
Here’s a simple report and an even more simple request!
Three years ago, 130 leaders participated in PLI.
In Fall 2017, 450 leaders are in PLI learning communities! Absolutely amazing.
Plus! Over 800 internationally this year.
It’s PLI’s largest enrollment in it’s history.
We just started Leadership Essentials in Denver last week! When I asked women and men: “How’d you get to PLI?” Almost without exception I hear two of three things:
- So and so told us we should join PLI.
- We’ve been wanting to do this for a long time and this was our chance.
- So and so offered to pay a portion so we could attend.
So, in all cases… Thanks to you!
So, would you join us on #GivingTuesday in making a gift…big gift…little gift…any gift…to extend the PLI blessing to the Ethiopian and Eritrean and Liberian and Hispanic pastors and spouses so they can participate in the D.C.learning community in 2018?
This is an incredible bunch. Gifted! Committed! Uber incomes or 7-11 or various hourly jobs. Adapting to a foreign American culture. But, my goodness, they love the Lord and they are passionately committed to be missionaries in this third largest mission field.
Two generous congregations and a small army of #GivingTuesday givers last year launched this learning community for 2017. Your gift will extend that blessing into the new year.
So, mark your calendar for November 28.
At its heart, we believe that the path toward vibrant communities of faith with deeper connections and wider and wider Gospel influence is a leadership challenge. Most congregations today are not taking on their greatest challenges because they lack sufficient leadership.
PLI is helping our multi ethnic pastors so that the Gospel is shared to all people by all people. It’s a universal Gospel with Global impact. –Dr. Yared Halche
